Irradiation of third instar larvae of Parasarcophaga ruficornis with UV rays caused a reduction in the total haemocyte count and the number of cells other than prohaemocytes was significantly low in the haemolymph of treated larvae as compared to those found in normal larvae. UV rays also induced structural changes in the blood cells.
