The relative preference of whitefly vector, Bemisia tabaci (Cenn.), among the four host plants was evaluated round the year. Preference of the vector was best exhibited during December-January. Average number of pupae per leaf during the period was 96 for Lantana camara, 7 for brinjal, 6 for tobacco and nil for cotton. In case the comparative study was limited to the period from June to September, the difference in host preference would not have been so markedly pronounced.
