Abstract

Effcacy of nine insecticides, viz, thiodicarb, endosulfan, phosphamidon, monocrotophos, quinalphos, dimethoate, methyl demeten, cypermethrin and phosalone was assessed against the brinjal shoot and fruit borer, Leucinodes orbonolis Guen. On the bash of frult infestation and yield of borer free fruits, thiodicarb 0.15 per cent and monocrotophos 0.04 per cent were most effective. The former treatment was moot: economical and gave an additional income of Rs. 3061 per ha. Dimethoate 0.03 per cent and methyl demeton 0.05 per cent were least effective both in respect of pest control and economics.
