Abstract

Four entomogenous fungi, viz, Aspergillus chevalieri (Mangin) Thom and Church (Perfect stage: Eurotium chevalierl) Paecilomyces farinosus (Dickson ex. Fr) Brown and Smith, Beauveria bssiana (Bats.) Vuiil and Fusarium oxysporum Schlechtendahl were tested against the grubs of Lachnostema longipennis Blanch. in the laboratory at 21° ± 1°C and RH.70%. All the treatments were significantly superior to control. Suspension of 107 spores/ml Aspergillus chevalieri and Paecilomyces farinosus caused higher mortality of grubs, king 77.77 and 73.33 per cent respectively, 15 days after the treatment.
