Three different species of hymenopterous parasitoids were recorded from the tur-pod fly, Melanagromyza obtusa (Malloch). Two parasitoids, viz, Ormyrus orientalis walker and Eurytoma sp. constitute the flrst record on the host, Melanagromyza oblusa (Malloch), apest of Cajanus cajan (L.) Millsp. The eggs of parasitoid Euderus lividus (Ashmead), are known to be laid only through the exit hole, made by the final instar larvae of the pest in the wall of the pod. But, the investigations revealed that these were also found inside the pod near or on the body of second instar larvae of Melanagromyza obtusa, when there was no indication of an exit hole. These parasitoid species act as biotic limiting factor in considerably checking the pest population.
