Abstract

Resistance in four cultivars of pearl millet, viz., ICMS 7704, ICMS 7805, WCQ 75 and BJ 104 to khapra beetle, Trogoderma granarium Everts was studied. The flour of each variety was mixed separately with wheat flour in different proportions of 1:0 (100%), 4:1 (80%), 3:1 (75%), 2:1 (66.6%) and 1:1 (50%). Development of T. granarium did not occur in ICMS 7704, ICMS 7805 and WCC 75. But, complete development of T. granarium was observed in BJ 104, being the most susceptible cultivar.
