Efficacy of synthetic pyrethroids was determined in the field against Lipaphis erysimi Kaltenbach infesting rapeseed Brassica campestris var. brown sarson (BSH-1) at Palampur (H.P.) for three years (1988–89 to 1991–92). Decamethrin 0.008% sprayed once during the second week of February was found to be most effective followed by cypermethrin 0.01% after 7 days of foliar application. The efficacy was quite comparable with the recommended insecticides, methyl demeton and dimethoate, even 14 days after spraying.
