Seven insecticides, viz., endosulfan, monocrotophos, quinalphos, chlorpyriphos, dimethoate, deltamethrin and fenvalerate were evaluated in the field against Antigastra catalaunalis (Dupon.) infesting sesamum at Orissa. All the treatments except dimethoate (0.30 kg a.i./ha) decreased larval population significantly. Endosulfan @ 0.35 kg a.i./ha applied at 30 and 60 days after germination was the most effective and economical in controlling the pest.
