Abstract

The accessory sex glands of Diplonychus indicus Venk. & Rao originate as an invagination on the 9th abdominal sternum. Each gland has follicles ranging from 100 to 150. The accessory gland opens into genital chamber. Each glandular follicle shows a number of microvilli converging into central cavity. It is made up of columnar secretory cells with an end apparatus. The secretion of accessory sex gland forms an adhesive while depositing the eggs on the back of male bugs.
