Abstract

A geographical isolate of nuclear polyhedrosis virus of Bombyx mori (L.) was studied under electron microscope. Polyhedra shape vary from octahedral to hexahedral and sizes range from 2 to 2.5 μ. Virion with membrane measures 300 nm in length and 45 nm in width. However, without membrane, it is more elongated having length of 400 nm and width 18 nm. This suggests that it may be new genotypic variant of BmNPV.
