Effect of formulation on the persistence and degradation of quinalphos was studied on tomato fruit following foliar application of aquaflow (20 AF) and microencapsulated (240 CS) formulations @ 500 g a.i/ha. Residues of two major metabolites, quinalphos P=O and 2-hydroxy quinoxalin were also estimated. Up to 5 days, concentration of quinalphos was more on tomato fruits treated with 240 CS than 20 AF. Thereafter, the differences became marginal. The residues from both the formulations persisted up to 14 days. The analysis of tomato fruit samples showed the presence of only 2-hydroxy quinoxalin residues and the type of formulation did not affect the level of metabolites formed.
