The effectiveness of five synthetic pyrethroids and quinalphos was evaluated against the sesamum leaf webber and capsule borer, Antigastra catalaunalis (Dup.). The insecticides were sprayed thrice at 20-day intervals. Deltamethrin @ 12.5 g, cypermethrin @ 60 g and fenpropathrin @ 100 g a.i./ha were quite effective in reducing flower bud, flower, and pod infestation due to A. catalaunalis in sesamum. Fluvalinate @ 75 g was moderately effective, whereas fenvalerate @ 75 g and quinalphos @ 500 g a.i./ha were less effective insecticides.
