Seven black gram (Vigna mungo L. Hepper) entries were evaluated for susceptibility and seedling vigour against the infestation of Callosobruchus maculatus Fabricius under pot culture conditions. Among the entries, the L/B ratios were less in YKR 415/2 (1.21), Vamban (1.27), VB 3 (1.28) and VB 4 (1.28), and 1.33 each in T9, Co 4 and PDU 10. Seed damage was less in small seeded YKR 415/2 (90.0%) and VB 3 (90.0%). Germination percentage and seedling vigour index was more in YKR 415/2>, being 100.0% and 2129.7, respectively, in bruchiid infested seeds, and low in T9, i.e., 13.3% and 58.17, respectively.
