Effect of formulation on the persistence of quinalphos was studied in water, sediment and soil following application of emulsifiable concentrate (25 EC), aquaOow (20 AF) and microencapsulated (240 CS) formulations @ 500 g a.i./ha. The residues of quinalphos in water persisted up to 40 days. Persistence of residues in water was more with sediment than without sediment. Up to 10 days, dissipation of quinalphos from water with and without sediment was fastest with 25 EC followed by 20 AF and 240 CS, and thereafter the differences became marginal. In soil, the persistence of quinalphos was highest with 240 CS followed by 20 AF and 25 EC with half-life of 2.4, 2.2 and 2.1 days, respectively.
