Cotton germplasm was screened using ‘multiple choice’ and ‘no choice’ tests under screenhouse/glass chimneys against the whitefly, Bemisia tabaci Genn. The adults were collected from the colonies raised on brinjal and released on cotton genotypes artificially. These plants were examined daily for the production of symptoms up to 20 days. Genotypes, viz., TH 18, TH 19, IL 88, IL 90, IL 99, RI, R2, R23 and R77 showed tolerant reaction to whitefly. None of the entries/genotypes was categorised as immune to whitefly with both the techniques. All the cultivars recommended in Punjab, viz., LH 886, LH 900, LH 1134, F 414, F 50S, F 846 and F 1054 were graded as susceptible to whitefly.
