Abstract

With the addition of a new species, Neoclia indiana, the genus Neoclia Malaise is recorded for the first time from Sikkim (India). The new species can be separated from its allied species N. sinensis as: postocellar area as long as broad (broader than long as 3:2 in sinensis); postocellar furrow distinct (very fine in sinensis); median fovea shallowly indicated (broadly indicated in sinensis), and mesotarsi 3–5 and all metatarsi fuscous (only apices of apical tarsal joints black in sinensis). A key to the species of this genus is provided.
