Abstract

Three species of Meristhus, viz., quadripunctatus Candeze, pistrinarius Candeze and crenulatus sp. nov. were collected from Uttar Pradesh (India). Tbe first two have been redescribed, whereas tbe last one is a new addition to the genus. This species is close to lepidotus Candeze, but differs in having grooves on propleurae for anterior tarsi and emarginate posterior angles of prothorax. There is no significant character to take out some species of Meristhus Candeze for inclusion in Rismethus Fleutlaux.
