A tenuipalpid mite, Neoraoiella eugeniae gen. et sp. nov., has been described with illustrations. It was collected on Eugenia sp. from South India. This new genus is differentiated from allied Raoiella Hirst by the presence of propodosomal shield over rostrum base. All stages of mite are red In colour and found on lower surface of the leaf in group causing slight rusting due to their feeding.
