Three new species of Cardiophorus Esch., viz, indicus, sikkimensis and hayuliangensis are recorded from hilly areas of north-eastern states of India. C. indicus can be separated from its allied species C. flexus Vats & Chauhan as: head as long as broad (longer than broad in latter), elytra black with four yellowish spots (uniformly black in latter), and pronotal posterior margin with only two pairs of indents (both with furrows and indents in latter). C. sikkimensis stands far apart from its closely related species C. sericapilosus Vats & Chauhan as:pubescence uniformly black (silky white with brownish patches on elytra in latter), head broader than long (as long as broad in latter), and pronotal posterior margin with furrows (indents in latter). C. hayuliangensis can be distinguished from C. unicus Vats & Chauhan as:pronotal punztation simple (double in latter), and posterior margin of pronotum with furrows (indents in latter). All new species are described and illustrated on a uniform systematic pattern.
