A new species is added to the existing fauna of Macrophya Dahlbom from India, while M. ukhrulensis Saini et al. has been synonymised with M. formosana Rohwer. Male of M. rufipodus Saini et al. is associated with its female counterpart. Described as new is M. naga which can be separted from its allied species M. pompilina as:body coal black (metallic blue in latter), malar space 1.5 x diameter of median ocellus (linear in latter), postocellar area broader than long as 2:1 (3:2 in latter), and OOL:POL = 3:2 (5:2 in latter). A key to the Indian species of this genus is provided.
