Sawfly genus Heptamelus Holiday is recorded for the first time from India with an addition of two new species. Described as new species are Heptamelus kalamunitopensis and Heptamelus gopeshwerensis. In addition to these new records, Ileptamelus marginatus Malaise is reported first time from India. The new species can be separated from its allied species H. marginatus as: malar space linear.(malar space more than half the diameter of median ocellus in H. marginatus); subapical tooth equal to or much shorter than apical one (subapical tooth of tarsal claw distinctly Longer and stronger than apical tooth in H. marginatus). Each species is described and illustrated on a uniform pattern. A key for the separation of these species is provided.
