Two new species of Tenthredo Linnaeus, viz., T. himachalica and T. pleuriruga are described and illustrated from India. The former can be separated from its allied species, viz., T. angustiannulata Malaise, T. pseudoappendicella Singh & Saini, and T. subtillissima Malaise as: abdominal segments 4–7 almost entirely golden yellow (almost black in allied ones), mesopleura rugose (not rugose in subtillissima), and malar space 0.5x diameter of median ocellus (at least 1x in angustiannulata and pseudoappendicella). T. pleuriruga can be distinguished from its related species, viz., T. appendicella Malaise, T. mandali Singh & Saini, and T. levigata Singh & Saini as: subapical tooth of tarsal claw distinctly longer than apical one (at most equal in related species), malar space 0.9 diameter of median ocellus (1x in levigata), postocellar area broader than long as 5:4 (3:2 in appendicella and mandali), mesoscutellum pulvinate (roundly raised into acute apex in mandali and flat in levigata), and lateral furrows distinct (absent in levigata).
