The survival of chilli gall midge, Asphondylia capsici Barnes, during summer off-season was observed on old chilli plants left in the field after final picking. The average number of floral parts, viz., floral bud, flower and tiny fruits, infested by A. capsici varied from 0.03–0.12 per plant. These plants provided the source for the carry-over of this pest.
