Abstract

Two new species of parasitic larval mites of the genus Charletonia (Acari: Erythraeidae) are described from Tamil Nadu, India. Charletonia keralicus sp. nov. was collected from Oxya sp. and C. sureshi sp.nov. from Attractomorpha sp. (Orthoptera: Acrididae). These new species are closely related to C. barbala and C. taiwanensis, but can be differentiated by the longer idiosomalae, longer AL and PL, longer ISD, larger AW/PW and Asens, lesser Psens and other body setal characters.
