Abstract

Antheraea proylei Jolly is an endemic species of oak tasar silkworm. It is parasitized by two species ot tachinid flies, Exorista sorbillans and Blepharipa zebina, causing heavy crop loss every season. Two species of hyperparasitoids, viz, Brachymeria lugibris and B. alternipes were recorded to hyperparasitize these uziflies from the north-eastern parts of India. They seem to be potential agents in the biocontrol of uziflies.
