Tenthredo kumaonensis (Rohwer) is synonymised with T. dorsivittata (Cameron) and the latter is redescribed and illustrated with special reference to studies on sexual dimorphism and population variations. Male differs from female as: mesosternum and posteromesal margin of propodeum pale yellow in male, but prasinus in female. In addition to these parts, triangular spot on targite 2 and posterior spot on tergite 5 yellowish in male only. Femora posterior only striped with black entirely in male but distal 2/3 only in female. The population variations noticed are in some specimens scutelli are pale, tergites 1–3 and 6–9 also with pale medial spot forming a continuous band.
