Abstract

With the first record of Edenticornia birmana Malaise from Meghalaya (India), genus Edenticornia extends its limits to the Indian sub-continent. This species has been described and illustrated in detail. E. birmana can be clearly differentiated from the only other known species of this genus, E. formosana Malaise, on the basis of the following combination of characters: postocellar furrows distinct (post ocellar furrow indistinct in E. formosana); clypeus labrum and abdomen entirely black (clypeus, labrum and margins of at least the 3rd and 4th tergites pale in E. formosana).
