Record of Hymnia fascialis (Cramer) on Amaranthus and parasite associated with it in mid hill zone of Himachal Pradesh

In Palampur, which falls in mid hill zone of Himachal Pradesh the species of Hymnia attacking Amaranthus was found to be Hymnia fascialis instead of H. recurvalis. The caterpillars of Hymniafascialis showed 25% parasitization by Apanteles sp. Both pest and parasite constitute new record from mid hill zone of Himachal Pradesh.
