Abstract

The activity and incidence of parrots, Psittacula spp. on sunflower, Helianthus annuus L. started soon after seed formation stage and continued till harvest. The number of visiting parrots was at peak on 82 days old crop. Further, the number and activity of parrots was more during morning and evening hours compared to mid day i.e. between 11.0 AM & 3.0 PM mainly due to risc in atmospheric temperature (32.1 to 45°C) which proved detrimental. Plant height and flower size was positively correlated with seed damage.
