Abstract

Out of four systemic insecticides viz., dimethoate, monocrotophos, imidacloprid and carhofuran applied as seedling root dip method against whitefly (Bemisia tabaci) on brinjal, imidacloprid proved most effective and recorded the lowest population (6.67 aud 6.00 adults/3 leaves) of whitefly after 30 days of transplanting in both 12 hand 24 h soaking periods, respectively. Data revealed that both 12 hand 24 h soaking periods were effective in controlling the whitefly population. In general 24 h of soaking proved better than 12 h of soaking.
