The mites encountered were: Astigmata: Acaridae, Aleuroglyphus ovatus (Troupeau), Rhizoglyphus sp., Thyreophagus entomophagus (Laboulbene), Tyrophagus sp., Mesostigmata Ameroseiidae, Neocypholaelaps sp., Laelapidae, Hypoaspis marksi Strandtmann and Crossley Jr., Urodinychidae, Leiodinychus parasiticus, Choudhury and Mukherjee, Prostigmata: Cheyletidae, Cheletophanes sp. Cheyletus eruditus (Schrank), C. fortist Oudemans, C. malaccenisis Oudemans, C. trouessartia Oudemans, C. trux Rodendorf, and Nodele philippinensis (Baker). The mite, Leiodinychus parasiticus was the most dominant contaminant of poultry feed in Hisar. The seven species of predatory mites of the family Cheyletidae must be keeping a natural control of harmful mites in the poultry feed, All the mites are the first record for their occurrence from poultry feed in Haryana state.
