Abstract

Extreme temperature and humidity conditions resulted in prolongation of eclosion in silkworm, Bombyx mori L. extending for two consecutive days. Reduction in eclosion (%) in bivoltine bread NB4D2 was recorded. On the other hand, PM (pure breed of silkworm) and PM × NB4D2 (hybrid of silkworm) confined their eclosion to a single day. The temperature and humidity together seems to exert synergic impact on the eclosion in the silkworm, B. mori L.
