Abstract

Studies on the field reaction of advance hybrids and popular cultivars of potato against red ant, Dorylus orientalis Westwood at Patna revealed relatively low tuber damage on hybrids compared to cultivars. The tuber damage was more on medium tubers compared to large and small sized tubers harvested either at 75 or 90 days after planting (DAP). The maximum (12.75%) tuber damage was recorded on potato cv. Kufri Chandramukhi and the minimum (4.50%) on hybrid IN-2626.
