Abstract

Protozoan disease of Silkworm, Bombyx mori in Jammu & Kashmir causes 5 percent mortality of larvae. Third instar larvae were most susceptible to the disease. NB4D2 × SH6, NB4D2 × KA, J121 × J122 and Hawlak races of Silkworm were found infected with this disease. Pathogen recovered from the diseased worms was Nosema bombycis Naegeli, oval in shape, measuring 3–4 microns in length and 1.5–2.0 microns in breadth.
