Abstract

The light trap collection by using mercury lamp indicated that Catocalinae under agro-climatic condition of Haryana is comprised of four species viz. Achaea janata (Linnaeus), Grammode stolida Fabridus, Parallelia torrida Guenee and Spirama retorta Cramer. These species obtained their peaks in September October. G. stolida was found most abundant followed by A. janata, S., retorta and P. torrida on the basis of daily catches. The taxonomic studies on these species have been carried out and described in detail. A key to the species of Catocalinae has also been provided for their easy identification.
