Influence of vegetation on the predatory performance of Diplonychus indicus

Vegetation in fresh water media provides the substratum for the water bug. Dlplonychus indicus but hinders its predation on mosquito larvae. The predator killed more number of Culex larvae in the absence of vegetation, when compared to those in the presence of vegetation. Females were found efficient in prey capture and feeding than males.
