The genus Barsine Walker has been revalidated along with the revival of defecta Walker and pretiosa Moore from the synonymy of gratiosa Guer as distinct species. The genus diagnosis has also been recharacterised by including genitalic characters. Two new species viz., valvalis and thomasi have been described and illustrated under genus Barsine. All these species completely conform to the characterisation of the genus. A key has also been formulated.
