Abstract

Studies conducted on the influence of four levels of nitrogen (0, 60, 120 and 200 kg N/ha) and four varieties (TN1, Triguna, Vijetha and DRRH1) of rice on brown planthopper revealed that the BPH population buildup was low up to 60 kg N/ha irrespective of the levels of BPH resistance of the varieties. At 120 and 200 kg N/ha population buildup varied with levels of resistance of a variety.
