Abstract

Present studies deal with the morphology and karyology of an insect parasitic nematode belonging to the genus Leidynema (Thelastomatidae). Pachytene karyotype, studies have been performed on oogonia (ovarian masses) of the nematodes, with a view to establish the karyotype of the species. The present study reveals 2n=10 chromosomes with four pair sub-metacentric and one pair metacentric chromosomes.
