Abstract

Sequential sampling plan based on the negative binomial distribution (NBD) with common Kc=2.4615, action threshold of lower limit μ=4 internode borer per plant and upper limit μ=5 internode borer per plant and a risk factors α and β were set at 0.10 level was developed for using in the control of internode borer, Chilo sacchariphagus indicus (K) in sugarcane. In addition operating Characteristic (OC) and average sample number (ASN) curves were studied for predicting the probable number of samples required for different population densities.
