Different combinations of aqueous extracts of Hyptis suaveolens and Melochia corchorifolia were tested against Spodoptera litura, Aproaerema molicolla and Aphis craccivora and compared with untreated control and standard Neemazal 1% (2ml/l). Results revealed significant reduction in the population of S. litura, A. modicella and A. craccivora in Neemazal (1%), H. suaveolens 5% and H. suaveolens 4% + 1% M. corchorifolia treatments. Percentage leaf damage was also drastically reduced in these treatments.
