Various neem products tried against, Chilo partellus (Swinhoe) on maize, showed reduction in egg laying by 64.6 to 97.6 per cent and egg hatching by 18.0 to 37.0 per cent. Nimbecidine caused maximum ovipositional deterrence, whereas Achook and Neemrich-I showed significantly higher number of eggs than control in no-choice test. Different neem products caused 56.0 to 68.0 per cent larval mortality.
