Twenty four varieties were screened against sawfly, Athalia proxima and on the basis of incidence of sawfly were broadly classified as moderately susceptible (Gaurav, B5–2, Godawari, Pusa Jaikisan, KM-9798), susceptible (Pusa Agrani, Kranti, Naveen, Lakshmi, Pusa Bold, T-50, 1001, Rohini, Kesari, Swarna) and highly susceptible (4001, KM-2, R5–30, RH-30, PBM-16, Kundan, 9611, Nathsona, Chapka-111).
