Abstract

Studies on the efficacy of Nomuraea rileyi (Farlow) Samson (Nolep 2g lit−1), Beauveria bassiana (Balsamo), HaNPV (500 LE ha−1), SINPV (300 LE ha−1), Bacillus thuringiensis var. kurstaki (Halt 5 WP), spinosad (Tracer 45 SC) and acephate (Acephate 75 SP) against Spodoptera litura (Fabricius) on groundnut incidicated that spinosad (61.8%) followed by spinosad + acephate (55.82%) and acephate (55.34%) recorded higher larval reduction of S. litura. The treatment HaNPV (2.1%) was found to be less effective and fungi (N. rileyi (3.48%) and B. bassiana (6.23%), viruses HaNPV (0.57%), and SINPV (0.73%)) and B.t (12.48%) were safe to coccinellids while, spinosad (34.8%), spinosad + acephate (26.59%) and acephate (21.19%) were relatively toxic.
