Studies on bio-efficacy of monocrotophos 40 EC, quinalfos 25 EC, fenvalerate 30 EC, chlorpyrifos 20 EC, permethrin 20 EC, endosulfan 35 EC, cypermethrin 25 EC, dimethoate 30 EC, decamethrin 2.8 EC and malathion 50 EC against gypsy moth, Lymantria spp. revealed that LC50 values of all the test insecticides ranged from 0.0035683 to 0.0164070 against second instar larvae and 0.0111707 to 0.0285787 and 0.0164070 to 0.0462004, against third and fourth instar larvae, respectively. The LC50 values increased with advancement of larval age. Decamethrin was found to be more toxic with LC50 value of 0.0035683, 0.0111707 and 0.0164070 against second, third and fourth instar larvae, respectively, while quinalfos (against second instar with LC50 value of 0.0163056) and endosulfan (against third and fourth instar larvae with LC50 value of 0.0285787 and 0.0462004, respectively) were less toxic.
