Abstract

Studies on the life table (for females) and age specific fecundity for the spotted pod borer, Maruca vitrata Geyer were carried out in laboratory on blackgram during January–March 2002 at Bapatla. The net reproductive rate (Ro) representing the total female birth was 10.18, the population increase with intrinsic rate of increase (rm) of 0.0841 females per female per day. The mean generation time (Tc) was 27.77 days. Population on reaching stable age distribution comprised approximately 97.14 per cent of immature stages.
