Indigenous bio-pesticides that continued to be in use by the farmers of Kerala have been reported. Local availability was the major criteria that determined the use of bio-pesticides, like Azadiracta indica, Glyricidia sepum and Hydnocarpus wighitiana. Lantana camera, Calotropus gigantia and Cleistanthus collinus were also popular in prophylactic pest control measures Glycosmis pentaphylla, Mangifera indica, Ricinus communis, Cleistanthus collinus, Anacardium occidentale, Ailanthus tryphysa, Macaranga indica, Strychnos nuxvomica, Centella asiatica and Maranta arundinaceae were other biopesticides identified with potential for farmers use.
