Abstract

The aerodynamic parameters of banana stem weevil, Odoiporus longicollois Oliver (Coleoptera: curculionodae) were investigated. The data represented the system in bio-aerodynamics. Static and dynamic parameters of the species are determined to describe some selected aspects of flight characteristics. Aerodynamic parameters like aspect ratio, wing loading, wing mass/body mass were calculated knowing the body parameters of the flier. The influence of the parameters on the frequency of wing beat is elucidated.
