Very little information, about resistance sources, if any, in peral millet is available hence concerted efforts were made to locate sources of resistance against key pests of pearl millet viz., shootfly, stem borer, grey weevil, Pyrilla and leaf roller. 5 lines, MH 1248, MH 1234, MH 1257, MH 1271, and MP 445 against shootfly; 6 lines, MH 1246, MH 1249, MH 1321, MP 473, MH 1399 and MH 1405 against stem borer; 4 lines, MH 1236, MH 1317, MH 1234 and MP 475 against Pyrilla; 4 lines, MH 1257, MH 1291, MH 1294 and MH 1338 against grey weevil and 3 lines, MH 1248, MH 1272 and MH 1274 against leaf roller were found promising amongst newly developed genotypes of pearl millet.
