Diversity and abundance of insects in soils of garden and multicrop system in Kerala

Studies on diversity and abundance of soil insects in a home garden and multicrop system revealed more diverse insects in garden soil as compared to multicrop system. Collembolans were the most abundant in home garden while Hymenopterans were the most abundant in multicrop system. In both sites, maximum insects were recorded in May and minimum in January.
